You may remember that on Kol Nidre, the JHJC Board announced an unexpected opportunity for us to buy a permanent home for our congregation. So, we rolled up our sleeves to raise $5 million for the “JHJC Go Forth Building Fund.” With exciting news and tremendous gratitude, we are thrilled to share that we have confirmed pledges towards this goal in an incredibly short nine weeks.
Per JHJC bylaws, an official Membership* vote is needed to allow the purchase of the building and a quorum will be required. This vote will occur at a Zoom community meeting at 5:30 PM MST on January 22, 2025, or by proxy. Please join us, where we will update the membership on our efforts and take questions, followed by a vote.
While we met the unthinkable challenge of raising $5 million in such a short period of time to secure the building, our work continues. The campaign will now evolve into the “JHJC Go Forth Building and Community Fund” to ensure that the JHJC community can vibrantly worship, learn, celebrate, nosh, and grow in our new home. Fundraising efforts will continue to improve interior and exterior spaces and fill the building with programs and events that embody the JHJC community spirit and culture.
*Per bylaws: One (1) person from a membership unit (family unit) that has paid current membership fees shall represent that family for voting purposes and to determine whether a quorum is present. If you are unsure of your current Membership status, please email us.
